What is Code IoT?

Code IoT is a platform with online courses developed by the Laboratório de Sistemas Integráveis Tecnológico. Code Iot is a Samsung initiative and aims to present concepts of Internet of Things, programming and electronics in 100% online and free courses.

How do I sign up in the Code IoT platform?

Click Register on the upper right corner, fill in the requested information and click "Create Account".

Can I change any personal information?

Yes, click Sign in, fill in the email and password, click Sign in again. Then click the icon pointing down next to your name and select the Account option. Make the changes and you will see the following message: "Your changes have been saved".


What are the courses on the Code Iot Platform?

You will find six courses that address different aspects of the Internet of Things:

  • Introduction to the Internet of Things
  • Learning to code
  • Electronics: concepts and basic components
  • Physical computing
  • Apps for mobile devices
  • Intelligent connected objects

How long do the courses last?

All courses are self-paced. This means you can take them at your own pace and time. We recommend that you set aside a few hours per week to carry out the proposed activities. The courses have an estimated weekly dedication time listed on the course registration page.

Who can take in the courses?

The courses were developed for Middle School and High School students and teachers. However, anyone interested in the topic can sign up.

How do I register for a course?

Login to the platform by clicking on “Sign in” and typing your email and password. Click Explore Courses. Select the course, read course information, such as the start date and the topics that will be covered. Then click "Enroll in __".

Are the courses free?

Yes, the courses are free of charge.

How are the classes?

The entire course content is made available since your enrollment. There are videos, texts and exercises. The courses also have a discussion board.

The first four modules contain content explanation and a graded assignment. The last module is reserved to the preparation of a project, which will be self-evaluated and also evaluated by the Code IoT team.

We recommend that you read the presentation part of the course to better understand the way we organized the content and how you will interact with your classmates and with the Code IoT team.

Can I access content offline?

Access to course content is always online, that is, you need to be connected to the Internet to access the courses.

I am a teacher. Can I use the course content with my students?

Yes, you can use the course content with your students. We suggest you encourage your students to sign up so they can access the content at their pace and perform the graded assignments.

Do the courses provide certificates?

Yes, in order to receive a certificate you need to achieve at least 60% of your final score. The final score is composed of 50% of the average of the graded assignments and 50% of the final project.

On the first business day of each week, certificates will be issued for all students that achieved 60% of the final grade and that have completed all proposed assignments until Wednesday, 23:59 UTC, of the previous week. The certificate will be available on the platform. Just go to and click the Generate Certificate button.
